Once your application and fee have been processed and accepted, you will be placed on our waitlist. Shining Star Doodles always reserves the right of the first pick of the litter, everyone else is placed on the list in order of application received. Once a litter is born, we will send an announcement within 24 hours to everyone on the waitlist. We send weekly email updates as well as post almost daily social media photos, and videos of puppies.  We conduct both a virtual and in-person open house, for deposit holders, when puppies are around 5 weeks of age so that you can ask questions and see the puppies in person.

Around 7 weeks old, we assess the temperaments of each puppy based on AviDog Temperament Testing. Puppies are also given thorough health checks, shots, and microchipped by our vet.  All of the information from the temperament testing and vet health checks is then communicated to everyone on the waitlist. We then schedule a “selection day”, which can be done in person or virtually. At that time we let everyone on the waitlist choose the puppy that best fits their lifestyle based on puppy temperament and personality.

We welcome and encourage deposit holders to visit the puppies before picking at 7 weeks. If this is not possible, we are more than willing to facetime or send videos of puppies to help give you a better sense of them.

The total amount it will cost you to acquire a Shining Star Doodle regardless of gender, color, or size will be $3000.

(Pups are sold on a strict spay/neuter agreement. Purchasing a “pick of the litter” is considered on a case-by-case basis for an additional fee. Breeding rights may also be purchased for an additional fee to approved breeders on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me if this is something you are interested in.)

If your application fee was received and processed before pregnancy confirmation, we will notify you as soon as we know that the pregnancy is definite.

Payment schedule:

  • $250 non-refundable application fee. This fee is due at the time of application to reserve a pup.
  • $1375 plus tax when pups are 4 weeks old. Sales tax.
  • $1375 due at 7 weeks old.  Any additional delivery fees (If applicable) will also need to be paid at this time. We charge $50 to deliver a pup to the airport.

If you miss a payment, this could result in your removal from the reservation list. We will attempt to contact you but if we are unable after 48 hours, we will remove you from the waitlist and offer you future breedings.  We understand that life doesn’t always go as planned, but unfortunately, we will. If hardship does occur, please contact us right away and we can work with you on moving your puppy reservation to a future litter.

If for any reason, you would like to move your reservation to a later litter, you may do so for up to 3 litters. Your spot on the reservation list may change if you choose to move.

Your puppy will be ready to go home at 8 weeks old. At this point, he or she will have had all age-appropriate shots, microchips, vet checks, and dewormings. All of their vet and health records will be provided for you along with a grooming, training, and puppy care information pack.  We work hard to prepare you and your puppy for the best transition home possible.  Our puppy go-home pack is carefully thought through to help prepare you and your pup for success.  We keep our puppies on a strict schedule for the weeks leading up to the transition to your home.  This is to help you and your puppy have a roadmap for your first few days home.  Many of our families report their pups sleep through the night and have little to no accidents in the house when our schedule is followed.

Once your payment is made in full, we will schedule a date and time for you to pick up your puppy.   If you know that you will not be able to pick up your puppy by the required date, you will need to let us know ASAP so we can confirm we are available for the additional time needed. If pups are not picked up at 8 weeks an additional $25/boarding fee will apply for every day after 8 weeks.

We prefer that families pick up their pups in person so that we can show you the training protocols that we have been working on as well as get to meet each other in person. We understand this is not always possible though, so we have a list of preferred ground and air transporters that we trust that we can refer to you if needed. It is the responsibility of all puppy families to make all arrangements with the transporters directly. We are willing to speak with and assist them as needed.

While transporting a pup out of state might seem like a daunting task, we have successfully placed puppies all over the USA.  Our pups are crate trained, exposed to car rides, noises, variety of people, sights, and sounds in the 8 weeks we have them.  We find they tend to travel very well and normally sleep through flights.  We are happy to meet you at the Denver or Colorado Springs airport so you can fly with your puppy or help you arrange travel with one of our trusted flight nannies.  Flight nannies are trained professionals that carry your puppy onto their flight and hand-deliver it to you at your local airport.  Prices for flight nannies can vary depending on seasonality, location and availability.  Average cost is around $600.

All of our breeding dogs are screened for testable genetic diseases and conditions relevant to their breeds.  We submit all testing to the Goldendoodle Association of North America for verification and abide by their code of ethics.  While it is simply impossible to prevent all possible health conditions in living creatures, we do everything in our ability to breed the healthiest dogs we can.  In the event, a pup is found to have a condition, we do offer a money-back warranty.

Initial Guarantee: (72 hours) – click here to read:

In preparation for going to their new homes, all of our puppies will be checked by a licensed veterinarian and certified in good health.  Shining Star Doodles guarantees that to the best of our knowledge, all pups are in good health at the time of delivery.  We strongly encourage all Buyers to take their puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of possession.

If the veterinarian finds a life-threatening or substantially life-altering condition in the Puppy, the Puppy will be replaced with another Puppy or equal value within one year.  A letter from the veterinarian is necessary as evidence of the Puppy’s condition.  If a replacement puppy cannot be provided within one year. a refund of up to 50 percent of the puppy price will be refunded.  Seller reserves the right request a second opinion.

Shining Star Doodles and their vet have taken measures to ensure that all common puppy aliments, such as worms, giardia, coccidia, flea, and mites are avoided.  The puppy has been examined and any of the above issues have been prevented or treated.  The above conditions are not covered under this warranty.

Please Note –  All our puppies have had age-appropriate vaccinations against Parvo and other highly contagious diseases, but since the nature of this illness is unpredictable we ask you to keep your puppy off public grounds (such as parks, sports fields, commonly used streets, beaches, veterinary clinics, etc.) until he/she has completed all puppy vaccinations which it is about 16 weeks of age. Even though your puppy has had some of its vaccinations and been dewormed, not all pet owners vaccinate their animals which puts your puppy at risk of exposure. If you do need to take your puppy into a public area such as the veterinary clinic, please carry your puppy in your arms or in a pet carrier for prevention. DO NOT PUT THE PUPPY ON THE GROUND. The guarantee becomes void if an illness should occur due to the above conditions not being met.

This 72-hour guarantee does not cover “change of mind” circumstances.

Shining Star Doodles will not be held responsible for the illness or death of any puppy which is found injured due to neglect, malnourishment, dehydration, accident-related, or abuse; that could have been prevented and treated by the puppy’s owner.
